Heh, aside from lots of lectures and not so much coursework nothing to exciting has happened since the last blog entry. Apart from maybe this:
Do now need a name for it tho - Any ideas the random few who might happen across this page?
Been a while, again.

I am not too good at keeping this blog updated. Meh. Anyhow, new things
I managed to get a sparkfun order off and now have some nice new toys to talk about; as part of my 4th year project I need an intertial measurement unit, so I am building one! Nothing too fancy as I just need it to be accurate for 2 or 3 seconds duing a turn of a mircomouse, but is a nice way to get back into micorcontroller programming after many months of looking at lines of c#.
Other new things include a new hard drive, after having 8gig left I invested in a 750gig HD from ebuyer, problem solved. Also have an Eee PC now, hopefully it will help with taking / organizing notes in lectures. And finally I snapped up a cheap server off ebay, £40 for a 1.2Ghz, 1Gig RAM, 80Gig HD in a 1u case, inc. delivery. It now has ubuntu server on it, and my plan is to install a subversion server to allow me to syncronise notes etc. between computers.
Also on a simliarish subject I am looking for a way to synchronise Outlook / Evolution calendars through an online service (preferably one I can run myself). Anyone have any ideas?
Been a while…

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare w/ Computers from 1983!
by Martyn on Jan.04, 2008, under News
Today I completed COD4 (on normal difficulty), great game. I would even go as far as saying the single player is better than Halo 3, probably because I never played the other Halo’s so the story meant less to me then a bag of something quite meaningless. Anyhow, great game, its got a fairly long storyline, plenty of people get killed and you can snipe bad people till the cows come home!
Now for an uber geek moment, check these out:
The former is from the 1983 classic Wargames and the later is from Call of Duty 4. Nice to know the Russians take the same care and due diligence with their nuclear missile programs. Now, anyone for a game of tic-tac-toe…
A New Month
by Martyn on Oct.01, 2007, under News
Have decided to finally do something with my website, I should have a lot of roboticish news to put up in the coming months as we build our autonomous robot platform for the Thales entry to the MOD Grand Challenge (see ruchallenge.com)
More to come!
